After earning a teacher training certificate from Avalon Art & Yoga Center in Palo Alto, CA in 2007 I taught yoga full time at the local studios in the Bay Area. I graduated as a valedictorian from California College of Ayurveda in the Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist program in 2006. My teaching experience includes being a part of the yoga teacher training faculty at Avalon Art & Yoga International in Palo Alto, California from 2012 to 2020.
I currently teach embodiment, including yoga and energy healing, online, via my Patreon membership program. I also offer private sessions, including yoga mentorship and astrology guide. I lead in-person pracitce circles, including yoga retreats in my home country, Thailand. And I freely share embodiment skills and spiritual wisdom through my weekly Soul Tending podcast, blog and newsletter.
Please read on if you are interested in the story of my life journey.
Living my myth means connecting to the symbolism and archetypes which show up in my everydeay life. Because my name has been with me since birth it holds a deep meaning which guides me to my soul purpose here on earth. I am Janya (one who creates) Wongsopa (beautiful circle). Since 2007, I've been holding countless small and large embodiment circles centered on graceful flow and interoception.
As a lover of nature, dance and music I've been immersing in soulful embodiment since childhood. My early learning and career was in arts and design including performance arts as a top fashion model and actress in Thailand and later as a fashion design technician and assistant at major companies including DKNY and cK in NYC. I graduated from FIT in 1995.
I left the hectic and unhealthy lifestyle in the big city and settled in the South Bay of Northern California in early 2000's. While I was still dreaming of being an artist and making fine arts, I was also working part-time in the hospitality industry to make ends meet. I felt uninspired, directionless, and disconnected from my magical, creative inner child.
Throughout early to mid 2000's, I began to attend yoga classes at a local gym daily. As it turned out, yoga didn't just support me physically it led me to my life purpose. The contemplative side of yoga helped me tune into the primal nature and reconnect me to the soulful inner child. I felt a deep call to learn as much as possible about holistic health and spirituality by becoming an Ayurvedic practictioner and yoga teacher in 2007.
After the passing of my father in 2017, I began a deep dive into indigenous, ancestral and occult knowledges to honor his spirit and consciously embody my soul evolution. This culminates to my meditation on the practical and transformative language of astrology. Since then, I've been holding beautiful circles for my yoga and embodiment family/community based on the lunisolar cycle and honoring the web of spirit that is my true home.
In 2020, I started a podcast to freely share my work. I also began offering my embodiment teaching via the online community based platform, Patreon. During this period of great shift, the symbolic language of astrology has been helping me to gracefully unfold with Change.
I collaborate with the Planets and Stars, and cultivate ongoing dialogues with the Elements and archetypes within and all around. My offerings aren’t just work that pays money but a living, breathing reciprocity with the cyclical energies and the divine spirit in us. The community allows me to live in wholeness in the human world that doesn’t yet fully recognize and value the web of spirit.
I live a gentle, slow and simple life with two dogs, a human partner and many untamed beings on the ancestral lands of the Thámien Ohlone Tribal ethnohistoric territory including the unceded ancestral lands of the Muwekma Ohlone Tribe of the San Francisco Bay Area.
Besides caring for my embodiment community I also tend to many house and garden plants. I'm grounded in linking personal and collective cares. I invest in Land Tax, Food Sovereignty, Indigenous Sovereignty, and Mutual Aid projects.
