Welcome the summer with a joyous journey inward. Allow the noontime of year to help you harvest the fruits of your year's productivity so far. Come as you are and practice to open the heart and revitalize the body. This practice aims to optimize the flow of the cardiovascular and the digestive systems to boost the immunity and relieve inflammation and indigestion as well as prevent winter colds and flus. This yin sequence focuses on stretching and pressurizing the heart and solar plexus regions. It activates the rest and digest response and reduce stress and fatigue allowing the body to return to homeostasis while cultivating tissue repair and organ regeneration.
Yin yoga consists of static-passive postures held for 3-10 minutes. When the muscle relaxes the body rests in gravity. The pro-gravity state internally moisturizes the ligament system by increasing the blood flow and water to the ligament system and increase elasticity of the plastic tissues--tendons, ligaments, and joints. Each Yin pose is held for a few to several minutes and can be considered a mini-meditation. Janya sequences the postures harmoniously and fluidly allowing for optimum relaxation and deepening physical and emotional insights.
All levels of practitioners are welcome. Please wear comfortable clothes.
