Welcome the fall season with a reflective space. Allow the falling leaves to inspire you to let go in order to receive the abundant harvest of your year. This practice aims to optimize the flow of the respiratory and the digestive systems, boost the immunity, and relieve excess dryness or over-productive phlegm and stagnant digestive elimination, as well as prevent winter colds and flus. This yin sequence focuses on tonifying the lungs and large intestine through stretching and pressurizing the thoracic, arms, and pelvic regions. It activates the rest and digest response and reduce stress and fatigue allowing the body to return to homeostasis while cultivating tissue repair and organ regeneration.
Janya creates a symbiotic practice combining yin yoga with tonic tea ritual and meditation in a harmonious sequence allowing for optimum relaxation and deepening physical and emotional insights. She will share the how and why of yin yoga as well as inviting you to find a deeper strength beyond the limited power of will and muscles. You will safely explore ways to expand your range of motion through joint pressurization. The yin pressure increases blood flow and water to the ligament system and increase elasticity of the plastic tissues--tendons, ligaments, and joints. Each Yin pose is held for a few to several minutes and can be considered a mini-meditation.
All levels of practitioners are welcome. Please wear comfortable clothes.
