Welcome the winter season with a deeply gratifying body and grateful heart. Winter is the time to quiet down, reflect, and clarify. This practice aims to purify the flow of the lymphatic and digestive systems as well as tonifies the reproductive organs, boosts the immunity, and prevents spring allergies. This yin sequence focuses on stretching and pressurizing the yin areas of the body at the lower and the back regions. When practice correctly yin stretch activates the rest and digest response and reduce stress and fatigue allowing the body to return to homeostasis while cultivating tissue repair and organ regeneration.
Janya creates a symbiotic practice combining yin yoga with tonic tea ritual and meditation in a harmonious sequence allowing for optimum relaxation and deepening physical and emotional insights. She will share the how and why of yin yoga as well as inviting you to find a deeper strength beyond the limited power of will and muscles. You will safely explore ways to expand your range of motion through joint pressurization. The yin pressure increases blood flow and water to the ligament system and increase elasticity of the plastic tissues--tendons, ligaments, and joints. Each Yin pose is held for a few to several minutes and can be considered a mini-meditation.
All levels of practitioners are welcome. Please wear comfortable clothes.
